Installation Guide

Get Production & Shipping Pro up and running in your BigCommerce store in just a few minutes.

Prerequisites

• Active BigCommerce store (any plan)
• Store admin access
• 5 minutes of your time

Step 1: Install the App

From BigCommerce App Marketplace:

1. Log in to your BigCommerce control panel
2. Go to Apps → App Marketplace
3. Search for "Production & Shipping Pro"
4. Click "Install"
5. Review and approve the requested permissions:
   • Products (Read & Write) - To manage production times
   • Shipping (Read & Write) - To create shipping rates
   • Store Information (Read) - To display your store name
   • Carts (Read) - For production time calculations
6. Click "Confirm"

Step 2: Complete Setup

After installation, you'll be redirected to the admin dashboard:

1. Dashboard loads - You'll see your store statistics
2. Start Free Trial - All plans include 14-day trial
3. Explore Features - Navigate through Production Times, Shipping Rates, and Settings

Step 3: Add Production Times

Option A: Manual Entry

1. Go to Production Times in the sidebar
2. Click "+ Add Product"
3. Enter:
   • Product ID - Found in your BigCommerce product list
   • Production Days - How many business days to produce
4. Click "Save"
5. Repeat for all products

Option B: CSV Import (Recommended for bulk)

1. Go to Production Times
2. Click "📥 Import CSV"
3. Upload a CSV file with columns:

   product_id,product_name,production_days
   123,Custom T-Shirt,5
   124,Mug with Logo,10
   125,Business Cards,3

4. Click "Import"

Option C: Fetch from BigCommerce

1. If you already have production times in custom fields
2. Click "🔍 Fetch from BC"
3. The app will scan all products and import existing production times

Step 4: Sync to BigCommerce

1. After adding production times, click "🔄 Sync to BigCommerce"
2. The app will:
   • Calculate estimated completion dates
   • Create custom fields on your products
   • Format as "5 business days (Ready by: Oct 17, 2025)"
3. Status will change from "Pending" to "Synced"

Step 5: Create Shipping Rates

1. Go to Shipping Rates in the sidebar
2. Click zones to select (United States, Canada, etc.)
3. Choose a template:
   • Free + Rush + Super Rush (Most popular)
   • Percentage Tiers
   • Fixed Rates
4. Preview the rates for different cart totals
5. Click "🚀 Apply to Selected Zones"
6. Confirm to remove existing methods or keep them

Example: Free + Rush + Super Rush Template

• FREE Shipping: $0
• Rush Shipping: 15% of cart total
• Super Rush: 30% of cart total (minimum $40)

Step 6: Style Custom Fields (Optional)

1. Go to Settings in the sidebar
2. Click "➕ Add New Style"
3. Select a template:
   • Fancy - Gradient, animated (recommended)
   • Professional - Clean, minimal
   • Tooltip - With interactive disclaimer
4. Choose pages to apply (product, cart, checkout)
5. Click "Create Style"
6. Scroll to "Script Injection Code"
7. Click "📋 Copy Code"

Add Script to Your Store:

Option A: Script Manager (Recommended)

1. In BigCommerce, go to Storefront → Script Manager
2. Click "Create Script"
3. Name: "Production & Shipping Pro Styles"
4. Placement: Footer
5. Location: All Pages
6. Paste the copied code
7. Click "Save"

Option B: Theme Files

1. Go to Storefront → Themes → Advanced → Edit Theme Files
2. Open templates/layout/base.html
3. Paste code before </body>
4. Click "Save & Apply File"

Step 7: Verify Everything Works

Check Production Times:

1. Visit a product page in your store
2. Look for "Production Time" in custom fields
3. Should show: "5 business days (Ready by: Oct 17, 2025)"
4. If styled, should have colored background

Check Shipping Rates:

1. Add a product to cart
2. Go to checkout
3. Select shipping location
4. Should see your configured rates (FREE, Rush, Super Rush)
5. Prices should calculate based on cart total

Troubleshooting

Production times not showing?

• Check sync status in dashboard (should be "Synced")
• Verify product has production time added
• Clear your browser cache and refresh
• Check BigCommerce custom fields in product edit page

Shipping rates not appearing?

• Verify rates were applied successfully
• Check they're enabled in BigCommerce (Shipping → Zones)
• Make sure cart total is within configured ranges
• Clear shipping cache in BigCommerce

Styles not showing?

• Verify script was added to Script Manager or theme
• Check style is enabled in dashboard
• Clear browser cache and hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R)
• Check browser console for JavaScript errors
